Shodely invites a closer look at “frankly drowning in an ocean”

Shodely's "frankly drowning in an ocean" is a song from the album "tryna find peace. The striking title immediately evokes an image of being overwhelmed. The ocean's size is used to conjure an experience that can feel bigger than one can cope with.

The ocean can represent vastness, uncertainty, or feeling surrounded by something hard to navigate. In that sense, the song prompts us to consider what it means to seek calm amid overwhelm. The song’s language can prompt listeners to project their own experiences onto the music.

“frankly drowning in an ocean” is an entry point into Shodely’s larger project in "tryna find peace." The track pulls the listener into Shodely's overall oeuvre and how this resonant phrase fits into the wider quest for peace.
