The idea of moving beyond what life throws your way, whilst remaining steadfast to what still matters, is at the core of the album. Iseniye Asuzu does not talk about resilience in abstract terms, but through a series of titles that speak of struggle, transformation, relationships, freedom, heritage and renewal. The trip starts with "Ten Feet Tal" and then moves over to "Side Chic No More (Sax on the Beat)," a song whose title immediately suggests a change of circumstances and point of view. Then, "We Rise Again" puts the album's message front and center, becoming a defining moment in the seven track collection.
Next up is "I Married My Sista's Ex," which injects a striking, personal sounding title into the project's narrative. From that point, "From The Dust To The Throne" continues to emphasize the album's overall progression from struggle to uplift. The track "No More Chains (we rise again)" brings the idea of breaking free to the foreground. The project ends with "Mother Africa (We Remember)," giving the listener a final feeling of remembrance and connection.
