STOCKTON, NJ – September ---, 2025 — Born Michael Stephen Shouse on September 27, 1970, in Jackson, Kentucky, Shouse has always lived at the intersection of passion and precision. After relocating to Los Angeles in 1992 to attend the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, he carved out a reputation as a technically gifted yet emotionally driven guitarist.
Over the years, his insights and lessons have appeared on respected online platforms such as chopsfromhell.com and guitar9.com, while his artistry earned features in Progression, Fireworks, and The Sound guitar magazines.
Shouse first made waves with his 2001 debut “Enter the Soul,” followed by a spotlight moment when the track “Man” landed on the 2002 compilation “International Anthems: Volume 1.” His sophomore release, “Alone on the Sun” (2010), received international acclaim, with its soaring title track featured on “Gods of Indie Guitar 2011” and premiering on the Australian TV show “Guitar Gods and Masterpieces.”
Now, after a 15-year hiatus, Shouse returns with Jaded — a rebirth both personal and artistic. Leading the charge is the electrifying single, “Romeo Is Gone.” The track is a bold declaration that this is no nostalgic comeback — it’s a resurgence. Packed with blistering riffs, emotive phrasing, and razor-sharp production, the song balances melody and muscle in equal measure.
“Romeo Is Gone” feels like a phoenix moment. The guitars roar with conviction, yet there’s an undercurrent of reflection that speaks to growth and reinvention. Shouse’s playing is mature but no less ferocious, weaving lyrical leads with commanding rhythm work. The track channels the spirit of classic virtuoso rock while sounding unmistakably modern.
The album Jaded is stacked with powerhouse collaborations, including guest solos from legendary guitarists Michael Angelo Batio, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, and Tony MacAlpine. On drums, Charlie Zeleny (known for work with Drumageddon, Jordan Rudess, and Terry Bozzio) delivers thunderous precision, while Metal Hall of Fame bassist James Amelio Pulli (Impellitteri) anchors the low end with authority. The record is mixed and mastered by Nashville legend Billy Decker, giving it a polished yet explosive sonic landscape.
As Shouse puts it, “This album is a rebirth for me in many ways.” With “Romeo Is Gone,” that rebirth is undeniable. It’s a triumphant reminder that true artistry doesn’t fade — it evolves, intensifies, and returns stronger than ever.
After years away from the spotlight, Shouse hasn’t just come back — he’s reclaimed his throne.
